My name is Jenn Wood I am a professional Labour support person known as a Doula. I help women and their partners achieve the birthing experience they have dreamed of from the beginning to the end, with the use of birth plans and comfort between all parties involved.

I worked as a nurse for close to sixteen years in Duncan, Nanaimo, and here at Victoria General, where I left about five years ago. I have always worked in the medical field in one capacity or another.

During this time I was blessed to become a mom to a beautiful daughter, who has taught me more about life than I could ever imagine, or learn from a book. She has shown me the uniqueness of family and what it truly means.

I have always been interested in women's issues and been active in various volunteer organizations. Throughout this journey I have spoken at different events in regards to women and issues that directly affect them. I believe that all women have the fundamental tools to birth children, and given the empowerment, nurturing, strength, and education, we can have the birthing experience we desire for ourselves and our partners.
